terms of use
Last updated July 2026. Plain-language summary below; using noisystanding means you agree to these terms.
When you tally a plate, that report is your statement, not ours. You are asserting that you saw the thing you tagged happen. noisystanding does not write, edit, verify, or endorse any individual report. What we host is the mechanical result: counts of tags that users chose, totalled up and ranked by simple math. We do not add commentary, and we do not promote or feature any particular record.
Plate pages and the Board show plate strings, up and down tallies, and counts of tags picked from our fixed vocabulary (things like "counterflow" or "yielded nicely"). There is no free text field anywhere on the site, by design. If you find a way to submit anything outside that fixed vocabulary, tell us; it is a bug, not a feature.
Anyone can dispute a plate's record without an account, from the plate page. Tell us it is not your plate's activity, that the plate was cloned or stolen, that it looks like coordinated harassment, or that you are sending a legal demand. We can quarantine recent reports on a plate, freeze the page, or annotate it while we look into it. We aim to respond fast, because a quick, visible response is the best protection against a dispute turning into something bigger.
- Do not use noisystanding to identify, name, or dox the person behind a plate. A plate is a vehicle identifier here, never a link to a person.
- Do not claim, imply, or publish anywhere that a specific individual is tied to a plate's record.
- Do not submit reports you did not personally witness, or use multiple accounts to inflate or brigade a plate's tally.
- Do not use the service to harass, stalk, or retaliate against a specific person.
We can remove reports, freeze plate pages, or limit an account's standing if we believe these terms are being broken. Reports are never hard-deleted from the record; removal is marked as such so the ledger stays honest.
noisystanding is a social record, not a verified one. Reports reflect what individual users chose to tally, and we make no claim that any given record is accurate or complete. Do not treat a plate's tally as proof of anything in a legal, insurance, or employment context.
